I was drawn to Angela's sweeping, leaf-like gestures as they drifted downward, so I echoed them with descending chromatic thirds. As the piece unfolded, my lines became more complex, but I kept returning to that descending motion. Each time she paused to reach for more paint, I found a way to reset, climbing back up in my range, only to spiral back down again, following her lead.
