Hurrycane (2024 Spring Sessions, #8/9)
Original artwork, 22” x 30” mixed media on paper, unframed
The painting unfolded in real-time, with chromatic, free-flowing, and rapidly shifting gestures. As I painted, I tried to move as quickly as the music, one hand in motion while the other gathered supplies and adjusted the process. What makes this piece unique is that its true essence can only be understood in the moment of its creation; most paintings make sense when complete, but this one truly lives within the dimension of time, its chaotic energy, cacophony, and motion only fully revealing themselves as they unfold. It's a dynamic whirlwind, where the action and rhythm are more important than the final image.
